This is a free event! Both the festival and the walk start at Liberty Wildlife, and end at Liberty Wildlife–2600 E. Elwood Street, Phoenix, AZ 85040.

El Rio Vivo- A Celebration of the Rio Salado

This, our inaugural year, El Rio Vivo strives to celebrate the restoration of the Rio Salado by bringing together nature, art, music and great food all in one day!

From fun and festive flavors of popcorn, to soulful selections of brisket and BBQ, to fresh fruit smoothies and Kona coffee… there’s literally something for everyone in the family.

The El Rio Vivo Interactive River Walk will be held from 8:30-11am, beginning and ending at Liberty Wildlife (2600 E. Elwood Street, Phoenix, AZ 85040).

Guests begin at Liberty Wildlife, just outside our back door the walk will follow along the Peace Trail that overlooks the Rio Salado. Participants will encounter information regarding the flora and fauna dependent on this river. Stations at various stops along the walk will provide more information and guests can meet some of our education ambassador animals.

The Peace Trail is a paved trail. For any questions regarding any aspect of the River Walk and its accessibility and difficulty, please email development@libertywildlife.org. Again, the walk begins and ends at Liberty Wildlife (2600 E. Elwood Street, Phoenix, AZ 85040).
