For Children in Grades K-3

The Superhero Club introduces young children to the wonders of nature and the important part they can play in being superheroes for our environment through stories, crafts and games.

 

Meets the 2nd Sunday of the month from 12:30-2:00pm

Nature Explorers

Nature Workshops for 4th-6th graders

Meet Liberty Wildlife ambassadors, such as hawks, owls, lizards, and coatimundis, up close and personal!  Go on observation adventures on Liberty Wildlife’s campus, and engage in craft activities to provide help to nature!

These workshops are held a few times a year for 4 weeks in a row on Sundays from 12:30-2:30 pm

Workshop #1: October 11, October 18, October 25 and November 1 2026

Workshop #2: January 10, January 17, January 24 and January 31, 2027

Workshop #3:  February 14, February 21, February 28 and March 7, 2027

Workshop #4:  April 4, April 11, April 18 and April 25, 2027

Cost is $60 per session (includes all 4 classes)

Teen Volunteer Program

Our teen guide program is for teens ages 13-17 who are interested in education and developing public speaking skills.

Commitment from end of Sept through end of April.

Applicants who submit their online application after the program has started for the year will be placed on a Wait-List and contacted during the summer to see if they are still interested.

(You must be 18+ to work with raptors at our facility.)

Teen Guide (Ages 13-17)

Teens will volunteer during our Open Hours either every other Saturday or every other Sunday with a group of other teen volunteers, a teen volunteer lead and our teen leaders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up and break down ‘booths’ before and after open hours
  • Present educational information at ‘booths’ during our open hours
  • Present educational information in the Interactive Lab.

Essential Functions:

  • Present educational information to the public during open hours
  • Develop your public speaking skills
  • Respect the animals, other volunteers, supervisors, and visitors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to interact with the public
  • Must have an eagerness to learn

Final Projects:

  • At the end of the fall semester, the students will give presentations during our open hours on a topic of their choice.
  • At the end of the spring semester, the students will help run an onsite event at Liberty Wildlife that is open to the public

Cost:

  • $250 per participant

Parental Waivers will need to be signed once admitted in to the program.

***** Liberty Wildlife Cannot Take Ducks, Geese or Lovebirds at this time *****

Liberty Wildlife is following proper protocols and taking precautions to prevent the spread of the avian flu in our facility and the community. Currently, we have been advised to not take any waterfowl (ducks or geese) to help minimize exposure to other animals. All waterfowl that are sick/injured should be transported to our partner Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG).
