Position: Executive Director (“and oldest person”)

Job Description: My job is to keep the joint running….so I make policy, make money, make mayhem go away

What was your first job: Working in a dress shop and I hated every minute of it.

Name: Jan Miller

Position: Animal Care Coordinator

Job Description: Medical care of all animals at Liberty.  Education animal trainer. Facility operations

What was your first job: My first job was an annoying little kid that would go door to door volunteering to walk my neighbors dogs. Then sadly as I was a little older I bagged groceries.

Name: Alex Stofko

Position: Daily Care Coordinator and Intake Coordinator

Job Description: oversee daily care of all animals at facility, intake of all drop off animals, and facility operations

What was your first job: retail at PacSun

Name: Laura Hackett

Position: Education Coordinator; Wildlife Biologist;

Job Description: create and schedule educational programs both on and off site, manage the Research and Conservation department and mitigate wildlife issues in the community/with utilities, daily care/training of Education Ambassadors, PR/Media, etc etc

What was your first job: Camp counselor at a nature center

Name: Nathan Thrash

Position: Public Outreach Coordinator

Job Description: I am the volunteer coordinator, event coordinator, and membership coordinator. I also help out with Hotline admin and Rescue & Transport​.

What was your first job: A lifeguard!

Name: Robert Mesta

Position: Director, Liberty Wildlife Non-Eagle Feather Repository Program (LWNEFR)

Job Description: I oversee the operation of the LWNEFR, Liberty Wildlife is permitted by the USFWS to accept, hold and distribute non-eagle feathers to Native Americans for religious and ceremonial purposes. The LWNEFR provides feathers to Native Americans throughout the U.S.

What was your first job: Picking fruit.

Name: Chris Sar

Position: Development Consultant

Job Description: I help coordinate a variety of fundraising activities for LW, from capital campaign, annual gifts, online gifts, grants, and some fundraising events

What was your first job:  I sold artwork to my classmates in 5th grade. Then I also had a paper route.

Name: Amy Day

Position: Accountant

Job Description: Oversee all financial matters and reporting for LW

What was your first job: Salad bar queen at Ponderosa Steakhouse

Name: Kathleen Scott

Position: Orphan Care Coordinator

Job Description: I oversee the running of Orphan Care (which is usually from March-September). I am responsible for training volunteers on how to feed and care for baby birds (non-raptors) and generally making sure everything is running smoothly (scheduling, supplies, paperwork, etc…).

What was your first job: I guess my very first job would be helping my dad with yard work when I was quite little. He’d pay me a penny for every stick I picked up.

Name: Mare Van Dyke

Position: NEFR Coordinator, and Accounting Assistant

Job Description: My primary role … is to know and apply the guidelines required by our permit from the USFWS for the LW Non-Eagle Feather Repository.

What was your first job: My total career was centered on marketing and business management. It began with my first job as the fabric “sample girl” identifying colors/dyes for a men’s clothing manufacturer.

Name: Susie Vaught

Position: Bookkeeper

Job Description: using Quickbooks enter donations, compile bank deposit, clear deposits, pay bills

What was your first job: At 17 I worked at A&W root beer in Scottsdale

Name: Debbie Ordorica

Position: LW Closer, Hotline Coordinator

Job Description: Closer – Assist med services, closing duties, lock up facility.  Hotline coordinator – Oversee hotline volunteers & schedule, train new hotline volunteers, assist hotline volunteers whenever needed for difficult or unique situations that arise.

What was your first job: Veterinary assistant at Acoma Animal Hospital in Tucson

Carol Suits

Position: Recently retired as Volunteer Coordinator/HR now volunteer staff/HR and Guardian member

Job Description: I continue to write “Kid Stuff” articles for the monthly LW publication, Nature News, contribute and edit our annual magazine, Wing Beats, and help with fundraising activities as a Guardian.

What was your first job: My first job was teaching public elementary school students in RI, NJ, GA and NY

Name: Terry Stevens

Position: Recently retired as Operation Director (but still ever present)

Job Description: Whatever needs to be done

What was your first job: I mopped the floors in my high school to pay for my tuition
