Owl Team
Owl Team, is very similar to Daily Care, except you are only caring for the rehabbing owls. This is an afternoon position. Owls are either with foster parents or in flight cages building muscle and endurance for their eventual release. In the spring and summer, foster parents tend to large broods of orphans. Must be available for a 3-hour shift one day per week. Minimum of 6-month commitment.
Shift times vary seasonally but are typically between 3/4pm-6pm
Job Responsibility:
– Feeds owls in Rehab
– Change water, remove and disposes of garbage
– Updates Daily Care Log Book
– Completes Owl Team Checklist
– Works as part of a team
Essential Functions:
– Cleaning thoroughly
– Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
– Preparation of food: dispersing and proper recording of food intake
– Safety: wearing proper protective wear (gloves, eye protectors, etc.)
– Able to identify issues (i.e., repairs, birds acting unusual, etc.)
– Able to follow directions & protocols set by Liberty Wildlife
– Being a team player
– Willingness to adapt to change
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
– Any wildlife knowledge is a plus!
