The year 2009 is now history. At the end of every year, we gather statistics for our own gratification (and to see how we are doing), but also to satisfy the requirements of our permits to the US Fish and Wildlife Service and to the Arizona Game and Fish Department. It is always amazing to see what we have accomplished in a mere 365 days. Every year about this time, the phone calls begin, "I have a bunch of ducklings in my pool…" With the proliferation rate of the local mallards, this will only increase over the years.  On February 5, 2010, the Arizona Eagle Nest Watch Program begins its 30th season of observations of new and established bald eagle nest locations around the state with eggs, hatchlings, and nestlings to count, culminating in the common goal of seeing that first fledgling flight.
